wow. Tough to answer that these days. Yes I did sapu most of them LOL. I gave most of them away as gifts. I saw a tray of them in Haniffa Textiles in Jln Masjid India. Not too sure that there are any old Chinese Bookshops in Sentul. By the way, all my Primary and Secondary schooling was done in Sentul :P The nearest one I think would be the 2 stationery shops in Jln Ipoh. One is near the famous Dim Sum place and the other is further down from the Dim Sum place.

Also, I found all metal versions of Hero pens in Tesco Puchong. If you're in the area, you may want to check those out.

Hi there Frank, I was as you were apprehensive about putting Hero inks in any of my pens. But I did find a super cheap Hero 331 that i filled up with the ink. Worked well enough to convince me to start using it in all my pens. Hope you enjoy the ink!

Very weird to discover the pencil of my first years in school reviewed in 2010 but also is very satisfying to discover something that I nearly have forgotten. I have many memories related with this pen and I wish I would still be in the possession of one of the three or four Hero pens that got me through school. I can still recall the spots of blue ink that I had on my hands after refilling one of these. Congrats on the article, brought back some very dear memories.

I did a google search for 78g and dry which lead me here. I just received one today, my first, and it was writing very dry, almost unusable which left me very disappointed since most of the reviews are positive. I read where you mention that you pushed in the converter and it started writing better and turns out that was my problem! Thanks!

Hi Guys, Apologies for not replying immediately. Doc Olmo, its becoming very difficult to find the 78Gs that I've reviewed. In fact, there are only 2 more of these left in a small stationery shop in Seri Kembangan in the row behind the KFC. However, I've seen the slightly older version (with a gold cap - same pen) in Haniffa Textiles in Masjid India, KL and in Petaling Street. In Petaling Street, Look for:

M.Hamzi, really sorry to hear about your loss. But Hero 616s and 100 are both rare in Malaysia. Nearest thing I've found was a RM 10 Hero#299 in Tesco Puchong. They look good (slimmer than a Parker 51) but write very well. Here's a tip, try looking for China pens in old Chinese bookshops. I saw some very excellent looking Jinhao pens in a Chinese bookshop in Petaling Street (diagonally opposite the old Rex cinema)..Prices for Jinhaos range from RM60+ to RM100. They look great and write rather well. Other Chinese brands which are good writers are Wing Sung pens. I got myself the Wing Sung #235 (Sheaffer Imperial Clone) in a small town in Sarawak last week for RM6. You can find deals like these in KL too. All you need to do is look. Happy Hunting! :)

Both the 616 Jumbo (3 of them) and the Hero 100 came to me as a trade( Canada to Europe). Both have too fine nibs for my taste and hand, but they may suit you. The quality of the 616's and 616 Jumbo's ( same size than a real Parker 51) is not too good, the person that bought them got a full box and only 4 were OK. Keep an eye as well as the market is plenty of clones that are just zilch. The Hero 100 is better built, has a 12K nib and a very fine nib as well, but the quality of the materials is not comparable, and the girth & weight of the pen are smaller than your 51 Demi. If you buy from E-Bay be careful from who you buy from ( check feed-back). Sorry I cannot provide a Malaysian reputed seller.

M. Hamzi, you can try Ebay, or try a specialist in Parker 51 such as Tom Mullane from http://www.myfavoritepen.com/. He will ship worldwide and probably will be able to provide you with a, exact original of the pen you lost. I have had several Hero 616 and 100, and sincerely....they are no match for the original Parker 51. Best of luck with it.

I lost my Parker 51 Vac-filling Demi 3 months ago and desperately looking for a replacement (even china Hero and Youth is somehow ok for me as I enjoyed writing with it so much). I would like to ask for your kind help sir if you could inform me where I can get it in KL. Many thanks in advance.
